YOUR MEMORIES, INSPIRING MOMENTS & INSPIRATION FOR CHANGE
I agree to Remember-the-Moment
         USER AGREEMENT

On November 4, 2008, our world changed forever.

Barack Obama, an African American, was elected the 44th President of the United States of America, not because of the color of his skin, but for the character of the man. In an election that captured the spirit of the people around the world, people celebrated the all inspiring historical moment.

What is the meaning of this moment in time? We said, “WE WANT CHANGE!” Where do we go from here? We said, “CHANGE WE NEED!” Are we inspired to do better? We said, “YES, WE CAN!” These were the words spoken by young and old, rich and poor, Democrat and Republican, black, white, Latino, Asian, and Native American, YES WE CAN!

Through a Presidential Election based on HOPE and CHANGE, GOD has shown us that as a people we have the ability to bring about CHANGE and that there is nothing false about HOPE. GOD has shown us that all things are possible, if we BELIEVE. That we are all born of greatness, and as such, much is expected of us. This historical moment reminds us, if we stand strong in FAITH and BELIEVE that our creator will always work through us and for us to bring about personal growth and positive CHANGE.

This moment in time is the beginning of the rest of our lives. This moment in time is our history. As I reflect, I think of how far we have come, how much we have seen and how much more there is for us to do. I think of how our stories are singular, but how our destiny is shared.

It is my HOPE that as our history pages are being written, through our life work and actions, that the history books will reflect some of the greatest moments of our lifetime, for we share responsibility that history has been placed in our hands and future generations depends on how it is written. It is my HOPE that we stir up the gift that GOD has instilled in each of us and “summon a spirit of patriotism; of service and responsibility where each of us resolves to pitch in and work harder and look after not only ourselves, but each other.” That we stare down darkness, apathy, greed and fear and let our light shine as we liberate ourselves from our fears. That we walk in integrity, honor each other and leave our mark of greatness in this world. That every step we take in the direction of CHANGE will lead to peace and prosperity, as we strive to recapture the American Dream, not just for a moment, but for a lifetime.

As Barack Obama, the 44th President of the United States of America carries out his responsibilities of the Office of the President, the road ahead will be long and the challenges many, but as a people we will get there, knowing that through our greatest challenges and rejections that we will be given our greatest directions. President Obama will need the help of all people, not just here in the United States of America, but around the world, to bring prosperity and promote the cause of peace.

In the days and years ahead, if called upon by President Obama to make a CHANGE, remember, “What we have already achieved gives us HOPE for what we can and must achieve tomorrow” and remember your reflective moment – your thoughts of HOPE, aspiration and willingness to CHANGE, to see CHANGE in our world - and those inspiring words, YES, WE CAN!

Excerpts from the Book

"My daughter called me at 7:30 AM to inquire if I had voted. It is usually the other way around. That’s when I knew something special was about to happen. Later that evening when it was announced that Barack Obama was elected the 44th President of the United States of America, as we celebrated over the phone – my daughter screaming with joy and tears of joy running down my face - as if on queue, we both said, “he will need our prayers”. May GOD keep President Obama and his family safe, as he carries out the people mandate of CHANGE."

"I entered the voting booth with my 7 year old daughter. Normally she is just there to push the vote button. But that day was different, she was more interested in WHO I was going to voting for. I looked at her perplexed as she told me about a mock election they had in her first grade class. Apparently every kid in the class voted for Barack Obama. Never have I felt a more obvious need for change."
